There are a huge number of rare dermatological conditions. It has been said that there are more dermatological conditions than there are other medical conditions all added together! Patients with a rash, the diagnosis of which is unknown, are commonly referred to me by a GP. In such cases, sometimes I can establish the diagnosis just by examining the skin, and sometimes a skin biopsy is required.
